HIGHLIGHTING ROSIE TORIBIO

Meet Rosie Toribio, a hospitality veteran with an eye for decor and a passion for entertaining. Rosie was furloughed from her full-time job earlier this year and decided she was going to use her unlimited time, to make lasting memories with her family. In doing so, she discovered the best type of memories are those made at the dining table and crafted up an idea that could be shared from her family to yours. Please read below to learn more about Rosie and her new company, R Table Studio.

H&F: Describe your career prior to this venture.

Rosie: I am a Group Sales Coordinator at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando for the past six years. I have worked for Hilton for almost seven years. My hospitality career started back in 2001 when I was hired as part of the opening team at Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center. I worked there for five years in various roles including Events, Conference Services, Catering, and Food & Beverage. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Business Administration. I also own Rosie’s Events where I offer Day of Wedding Coordinator services and much more.

H&F: How has your career prepared you for what is next?

Rosie: Being a Hospitality Business Administration graduate and working in the industry for 19 years, has made me a well-rounded professional in this field. The knowledge I have acquired for service, planning, coordinating, designing, attention to details, execution, creativity, selling, and building relationships with guests/customers/fellow colleagues, is what has helped me come up with R Table Studio. My professional experiences and personal passions have brought me to create this unique idea, where I will be proving people with tableware/tabletop pieces and collections to dress and give their dining tables life and make them stylish and beautiful.

H&F: Tell us about how you have redefined yourself.

Rosie: Once furloughed, I dedicated all my time to my family and creating special moments at home. The dining table was the center of it all, where I began styling my table in a way that it would tell a story. From all the meals, conversations, and Facetime with family we shared on the table, it became a special area at home to relax, sit back, enjoy each other’s company and unwind from everything happening in the world. I realized I was redefining myself and could help others enjoy this same dining experience that I am providing my family at their own homes. R Table Studio makes custom-made tableware/tabletop collections and provides table styling and table décor services.

H&F: When/how did you get that “light bulb” moment to start this brand?

Rosie: This time at home gave me the opportunity to discover infinite combinations to brighten up the moments spent in our homes. While styling my dining table at home for Easter, I realized I did not have any Easter specific charger plates like those that are plaid pattern in purple or pink. I only had the basic gold and silver charger plates. A lightbulb immediately went off! I thought about using the charger plates I already had and covering them with an Easter fabric. From that moment, R Table Studio was born, and I began brainstorming of all the custom-made tableware pieces I wanted to include in my collections.

H&F: Tell us something unique about your brand. What do you want the world to know?

Rosie: The charger plate covers are the unique piece and the star of it all. This unique idea allows you to re-use the same charger plate but at the same time make it look different each time by just using a custom-made fabric covering. R Table Studio is special because of the uniqueness, details, creativity, color, love and passion behind our collections.

H&F: What is the meaning behind your brand name, or why is it special to you?

Rosie: The name R Table Studio was created by using the first initial of my first name Rosie, using the word Table to describe the type of product, and my studio is where I get inspired and make all of my creations.

H&F: How do you find your inspiration for your projects?

Rosie: It all begins with the design of the fabric. Once I have chosen the fabric, I get inspired and all my ideas start flowing.

“'Passion is the key to everything you do to do it well.' Being passionate about what you want to do will help you overcome any obstacles. If there is passion, there is away." -Rosie
